  3. Handle a charge when needed.A private link shows the amount and opens Stripe Checkout. Saving a card is optional.

The company confirms the actual service schedule. Texting needs business registration and provider approval. Existing rental terms still apply.

How does Enterprise count rental units?

One unit is one dumpster, portable toilet, or handwashing station. Count each asset once across your company—even in the yard, on rent, in transit, or in maintenance. Deliveries, pickups, and repeat service visits don’t add units. Permanently retired equipment is excluded.

Gravel and Combo cover up to 500 active rental units per company. Enterprise applies above 500 units. Multiple operating companies, custom migration, or extra messaging are quoted before activation. Snow site volume is scoped separately. We check your inventory and workflow capacity with you before going live.

What’s included in texting?

Gravel manages customer texting for your company. Each plan includes one business texting number, standard registration, and the monthly outbound SMS allowance shown above. Combo shares one allowance across its services. US and Canadian destinations only; long texts and special characters can use multiple segments.

Allowances reset monthly and don’t roll over. Higher volumes and additional numbers are quoted before activation; there are no automatic overage charges. Bulk marketing campaigns, international messaging, voice service, and picture messages are outside this offer. Business registration and provider approval are required before texting goes live.

Create your company workspace online. Verify your email, then review and confirm your subscription in Stripe. Configure your customer rates and connect your company’s services during onboarding. Texting requires provider registration and approval. iPhone beta access remains arranged with the team.

No per-user fee or standard setup fee. Texting is included within your plan’s allowance. Payment processing, mapping usage, applicable taxes, and custom data migration are separate. Any additional services are agreed before activation.

Is Gravel software, or a rental company?

Gravel is software for running your outfit. Try dumpsters, portable toilets and wash stations, snow and ice, or a mix. Your name stays on the business. Your customers, crew, equipment, and prices stay yours. The monthly plan pays for the software; you decide what to charge your customers.

What types of businesses can use Gravel?

Dumpsters, portable toilets and handwashing, and snow and ice. Each gets its own tools for the job. Run one service or put them together under your company. We’re getting these three right before taking on more.

Can I evaluate restroom and wash-station rentals?

Yes. Try standard toilets, accessible toilets, and wash stations. Set rates, track your units, and work through repeat rental billing. We’ll check your setup and run a whole job with your crew before you go live.

How does Combo work?

Combo brings two or more services into one workspace with shared customers and staff. Choose dumpsters, portable toilets and handwashing, or snow and ice during setup. Service invoices keep their own identity in the customer portal. The test subscription doesn’t collect money.

Can Gravel help me avoid hiring a dispatcher?

For supported rental and snow workflows, Gravel Enterprise’s automatic scheduling and route planning take on repetitive coordination so an owner can manage more of the day without a dedicated dispatch hire. You stay in control and handle exceptions. The right staffing setup depends on your workload; we’ll walk through it in your demo. If you already have dispatchers, Gravel helps them spend less time on routine coordination.

Do I need to be good with software?

You’ve got a business to run. Gravel keeps the day’s work together and tells drivers what’s next. We’ll help set things up and run through a whole job with your crew before you go live.

What about small dumpsters or large roll-offs?

Show us what you run: small bins, big roll-offs, or a bit of both. We’ll go through your equipment and how you work, check the fit, and agree on any extra setup before launch. Bring your sizes and equipment questions to the demo.

Is Gravel for a small business or a larger fleet?

Both. Running the whole show yourself or keeping a bigger crew busy, we’ll work through your setup with you. We’ll check your fleet, crew, and day-to-day work before launch.

Is Gravel a separate product from NorthStar?

Yes. Gravel grew out of the software used by NorthStar Rolloff. NorthStar is one company using it. Your company gets its own setup, people, and business records.

Pricing and getting started

Can I use my own company name and pricing?

Yes. Use your company name, contact details, service area, and prices. Set up your pricing programs and customer rates too. We’ll go through it with you during setup.

Does it work on a driver’s phone?

Yes. Drivers can open Gravel on their phone for stops, job details, photos, and weight tickets. Supported rental and snow work can save proof without a signal. Navigation and connected services still need a connection.

How much does it cost per month?

There are three tiers: Gravel at $199/month for any one supported service, Combo at $299/month for two or more services, and Enterprise at $699/month for companies with more than 500 active rental units. Gravel and Combo cover up to 500 active rental units per company. Prices are in USD per operating company, with team access and guided setup included. Gravel and Combo each include 1,000 outbound SMS segments per month. Enterprise is $699/month with dumpster, rental/sanitation and snow services, automatic scheduling and route planning for supported rental and snow workflows, coverage for fleets above 500 active rental units, and 10,000 outbound SMS segments. Multiple operating companies receive a custom quote; snow site volume is scoped separately. Plans are monthly, with no annual commitment. Payment processing, mapping usage, applicable taxes, and custom data migration are separate. Texting requires business registration and provider approval. Requesting a demo does not start a paid subscription.

Which rental units count toward Enterprise?

Each physical rental asset counts once: a dumpster, portable toilet, or handwashing station. Units in the yard, on rent, in transit, or in maintenance count; permanently retired equipment doesn’t. The count combines dumpster and sanitation services across all branches within one operating company. Repeat deliveries, pickups, cleanings, and invoices don’t consume more units. Snow properties are service sites, so we confirm that volume separately. We check your inventory and day-to-day work before live activation; the fleet count is separate from the number of stops in a single route.

Can customers book and pay online?

Yes. Customers can book, look up rentals, see invoices, and pay through Stripe once your company is connected. We check payments and messaging before you start using them for real work.
